Novel green and environmental friendly soil stabilization method package to solve dust problem
Dust problems and dust storms are the most important offensive problems that have severe consequences on the economy and the quality of life of residents of many countries including the MENA region, the United States, and African countries. We are honored to present the first long-term efficient eco-friendly method for this problem.
Achieved after 14+ years of research by a team of world-recognized university professors and engineers, the current method package introduces green and environmentally friendly methods to tackle dust problems in the deserts while having the potential to stabilize the quicksands, if required. The methods have successfully passed each and every examination including wind tunnel and sand bombardment tests used to evaluate the performance in the maximum severity conditions.
Two final methods that are presented in this package include the utilization of special types of microorganisms and specific biomaterials, which are selected based on the site characteristics.
Some benefits are listed below:
- Unlike oil mulch, it does not require heat or energy to be applied
- No special training is required for the spray
- It is colorless and odorless and does not change the appearance of the desert
- If the land is not sloping, rainfall has a positive effect on the mechanism
- It increases moisture storage capacity and reduces agricultural irrigation
- Biomaterials react quickly to soil, reduce dust, and increase surface strength
- The efficiency of microorganisms potentially increases over time which is a great advantage
- The temperature of 50° C does not have a significant effect on the mechanisms
- Its price is declining in the global trend because it is widely used in the industry
- By recycling some materials, biomaterials can be prepared at a very cheap price. We have the knowledge and expertise to produce these biomaterials as well.
- Biomaterials do not need a culture medium or nutrients
- Studies have shown that these methods increase plant growth
- In these methods, the permeability of the soil has no to negligible changes, and as a result, there is no problem in absorbing water in the ground, growing plants or even insects and other animals. In addition to the very long life of this method, this is a great advantage over traditional methods.
- The biomaterials and microorganisms used for this method are completely harmless to humans and therefore, even the entry of these biomaterials microorganisms into water resources (e.g. if dissolved in runoff) will not have any negative impact on the health and growth of living organisms.
- Intermittent rain tolerance was confirmed for these methods.
- Exposed to the wind of up to less than about 100 km/ h, excellent performance was confirmed.
- Strong bonds between soil particles and creating strong ridges were proven
- Severe sand bombardment tests passed successfully for both methods.
